Vibes This Week

<< Moody & Dusty Pinks >>

You would never know it from the website watercolor design, but I wouldn't chalk myself up as a 'pink person (even when Pantone deemed 'rose quartz' the 2016 color or the year). That being said... I am having a newfound and deep romance with the color pink! This new relationship does have it's limits: this is not an 'unconditional love' situation.

The pinks I gravitate toward are moody, dusty, romantic (not Disney/Julia Roberts romantic, maybe more Anna Karenina), glam, rock'n, and organic. Pink with an edge, an attitude, a mystique and a f-you-you-don't-know-me vibe. This is the pink I'm vibin' on hard this week.

Here's the vibe. Check it:

- Touches of black, gray, and organic textures to add drama to the mood.

- Molten dusty rose with copper, bronze, wood, and linens to ground the dreamy color.

- A hint of textured pink with lots of organic elements, grays, and rich leather.

- Modern lines, clean cut and tailored shapes to balance. (This sofa: HERE)

- Keepin' this color humble but still linen-luscious, simple, and rustic (this linen bedding: HERE)

- Gray + dark wood + dusty pink = perfection

- When in doubt.. Rothko always knows best.

- Dusty pink with variations on gray- change up your bedding for a quick shift to this color palette.

If you love this and want to incorporate it into your life, don't think you have to rush things!  Start slow: linens, flowers, art on the walls - test it out.  If it's love, then say hello sofa! Hello gray walls with dusty rose linen sheets!  Hello textured pink walls with copper kitchen goods! Oh, and I guess... get married in it?

- My 1930s vintage 'champagne rose' wedding dress... I guess I do love pink!  (Photographer: HERE)
